Living in the Sunshine state for over 25 years and coming here for almost a decade before. My family and I have loved our time here. Some days more than others.

From Jacksonville to Miami and Naples to Pensacola and all points in between we will explore and share our likes and loves.

What will we be talking about?

In the Florida’s Fun blog we will give updates on many topics and try to answer common questions that most people have asked me through the years.

Florida’s fun blog will cover weather from month to month Florida is a big state in two different time zones and the weather can as different from the east to the west coast. and from the northern counties to the southern cities.

At Florida’s fun will cover Florida fun facts such as exploring the oldest city created by the Spanish to where did the first explorers land. And Fun facts about the Space coast or NASCAR racing in Daytona and all other sports. Because sports is a year round business and passion in Florida.

We find entertaining stories about Florida man which the whole country seems to chuckle at.

Attractions

We will cover everything from the theme parks to the zoos and everything in between. The wide choices of fun things you can do all of the time. From Busch Gardens in Tampa with it’s Africa theme amusement park and amazing rollercoasters. to Orlando which as several places such as Disney world with multiple theme parks like Magic Kingdom and EPCOT to name a few or Universal Studios and Sea World. There is no shortage of ways to excite you. And at Florida’s Fun blog we do our best to cover them all from big to small.

The growth of the state of Florida

So many people have chosen to live in the free state of Florida. Because of Florida’s Fun and the freedom of living the way The United States is meant to be.

The state of Florida has doubled in population over the last 25 years. Due to many reasons but the warmth and sunshine is a big reason especially when most of the country is grey and cloudy from October to April in Florida it is mostly sunny and warmer.

Florida is home to nearly 200 public beaches . In addition to that we cover the best times and how far they are from all the different areas you will possibly be staying at.

Sports

Whether you are a spectator or a player. Florida’s fun place to be. There are award winning golf courses. If tennis is your game there is no shortage of places to play. A lot of people have taken to playing the fun new sport pickleball and there pickleball courts sprouting up all over.

If you like baseball. Florida is home to two major league teams the Tampa Bay Rays in the American league east and the Florida Marlins in the National league east.

And every year fifteen major league baseball teams call Florida their southern home in February and March.

All over the state is also home t many minor league baseball teams and you can see games almost everywhere all summer long

Football

In Florida’s fun we will discuss Florida’s love of the game of football.

Pro football

The state of Florida is home to three National Football League teams.

The Jacksonville Jaguars who play in the north eastern part of the state at Ever Bank stadium a 64.000 seat stadium but can expand to 80.000 seats.

Miami Dolphins who started off in the old American Football league in 1966 and were part of the NFL/AFL merger they call the 65,326 capacity Hard Rock Stadium home.

In the city of city of Tampa is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers established in 1976 they call Raymond James stadium home and it has a capacity of 75,000 screaming fans.

Super Bowls

The Dolphins and Buccaneers have each one the Super bowl twice And the city of Miami has hosted the super bowl eleven times. While Tampa has hosted five times and Jacksonville once.

The state of Florida has hosted a league leading 17 Super Bowls probably because Florida’s fun and the world is wanting to join in.

College Football

In Florida College football is king in so many ways because it is home to 18 college football teams and 10 division one teams. Such as the University of Florida Gators. And the Miami Hurricanes as well as the Florida State University Seminoles and the University of South Florida Bulls.

Basketball

The fact is Florida loves all sports and that includes basketball. With two National Basketball League teams calling Florida home for over 30 years. There is the Miami Heat who have played championship basketball several seasons. And the fun and competitive Orlando Magic who entertain the fans and have had several hall of fame basketball players wear their jersey. Such as Shaquille O’Neill and Vince Carter to name a few.

Hockey

With Florida having two National Hockey league teams. The Tampa Bay Lightning and The Florida Panthers. Florida’s fun hockey world with the Lightning winning the Stanley Cup three times including back to back in 2020 and 2021. In addition to the Florida Panthers winning the Stanley Cup for the first time in 2024.

Florida’s Fun Hockey Fact

The Tampa Bay Lightning hosted the largest indoor attendance NHL playoff game against the Philadelphia Flyers in the Thunderdome ( now known as Tropicana Field) The attendance was 28.183 on April 23. 1996.

The state of Florida is home to three of the last four Stanley Cup champions and the last four Stanley Cup Series.

Soccer

The state of Florida’s fun if you love soccer you will love Florida. So many places in every community have soccer fields.

Kids and adults play soccer nearly everyday of the year.

Florida is home to professional soccer teams like Inter Miami CF and the Orlando City SC and The Tampa Bay Rowdies who play at Al Lang field in the city of St. Petersburg. In addition the state of Florida also has several pro women’s soccer teams.

Auto Racing

People who live and visit Florida’s fun blog will here about the areas passion for all types of auto racing. Florida to Daytona 500 and the St. Petersburg Grand Prix. In addition to Formula one racing in Miami. You have all kinds of racing around the state and available to all ages.

Golf

There are over a thousand golf courses in Florida. Also Florida plays host to several professional and amateur tournaments. Florida is a golf destination state especially in the winter.

Swimming

Florida is home to many places to go snorkeling As well as a wonderful place to learn how to SCUBA dive. As well as the hundreds of beaches and hundreds.

Fishing

If you love to fish whether fresh water or salt water. There is so many places to do this and so many options from wade fishing and great pier fishing place. In addition to that you can get on the water from boating to kayak fishing. Month to month there is a wide variety of fish to catch for meals or sport.
